#RwandaReads Initiative

Today July 19th is the launch of Rwanda Reads, a four-year MINEDUC initiative to develop a culture ofreading in Rwanda.

As you may already know, nationwide limitations on access to reading materials and a lack of appreciation of reading as a source of personal growth and pleasure currently form barriers to a reading culture. The Rwanda Reads initiative will utilize a variety of strategies including public awareness campaigns, improved literacy instruction, and increased availability of reading materials, to dismantle these barriers and develop a thriving and sustainable culture of reading.

Part of the launch is an exhibition where you will find the Ishyo Arts Centre booth. If you happen to be at KIE today, please come by for a hello, a story or a small reading session!
